Eagle’s Nest work gets off the ground

Saw a beautiful sight over the weekend. We drove to Sauk Centre last Saturday to visit the Eagle’s Healing Nest and attend a fund raiser going on there. As we turned off the highway and drove up the tree-lined entrance of the complex, we saw workers up on top of one of the buildings. They were lining up and attaching roof trusses on a flat portion of the roof of the building that formerly served as the school gymnasium.

It did my heart good to see work finally proceeding on the project of re-roofing the 24 buildings on the campus of the former girls’ school. Built by the state, starting in the early 1900s, these large structures are in great need of maintenance to alleviate water damage, which has already occurred in some of the buildings…Continue Reading
